It's his opponents demanding more, so big miss and nice try I guess.

It's expensive to put on events in Australia these days, I'm sure the UFC figured they could fill the card with mainly cheap local fighters, at least early on.
Is it the income tax or do Aussie fighters not need to pay Aussie income tax if they fight abroad or why is it more expensive for them in their own country than in Vegas?

Bravo to Francis for sticking it to the UFC and getting the bag on his own

He's not complaining about pay...This thread will be filled with Virtue Signalers complaining about fighters pay more than "company bootlickers".

I can see it. Apparently the tax structure there is pretty brutal for foreign fighters to compete there. Nothing wrong with making sure you’re going to end up with at the very least your usual post taxes take home

Crazy the UFC expects people to Fly literally across the planet for the same pay. At least pay their teams travel expenses and enough to offset Australian taxes. Not to mention its pretty much a short notice fight at this point.

I hope he gets paid in USD because if he’s getting paid in AUD that’s down right criminal.
I know you’re only as good as your last performance but im still hyped on him and I hope he goes far.

I’ll side with him here. It sounds like he’s not saying his contract sucks but that Australian taxes suck. So I understand not wanting to fight in a country that’s going to take all your money. I don’t know if it should be the UFC’s responsibility to make up the difference though. If it were a contract issue I’d have to not care much because I’m tired of fighters signing deals and turning right around and complaining about it one fight later.

I mean it's pretty stupid if you're on a contract and get paid a static #, but then the UFC decides to host an event in a country that taxes foreigners to hell. I bet UFC probably likes Australian events to get guys to reject fights. Doesn't make sense to get paid less to do the same thing just because the country you're fighting in.

Hopefully they can get an opponent for him. I wonder what the UFC considers a “significant” pay increase 10K? 20K? For fighters based in the US or Europe it really doesn’t make sense for them to take a fight over there if they are on a 12K/12K

Even though pay has overall gone up I feel like Endeavor has been doing a lot more nickel and diming.
