Fighter is aBasic Vocationin Dragon's Dogma 2. TheFighter is both a defensive and offensive unit, able to deal damage with a sword while protecting with a shield. Vocationsare the many character classes the player can choose from. The Vocation you choose for the Arisen or your Pawns dictates what Weapons and Skills they are able to use, as well as how their stats increase per level up. Some Vocations are only able to be used by the Arisen.

The Fighter vocation excels in melee combat, deftly wielding a sword and shield. Fighters can slice through enemy ranks and deliver powerful blows, while also using shields to protect themselves and their allies.

Dragon's Dogma 2 Fighter Guide: How to Play

Fighters wield a sword and shield, and excel at battle in close quarters. Their balanced approach to combat sees them alternate between charging the enemy line from the vanguard and hurtling to the defense of their comrades, all while deflecting blows with their shield and delivering swift slashes with their sword. Press the class action button to guard against enemy attacks. Stamina recovers slowly while guarding, and some stamina is consumed when an attack connects with the shield, so you must try to conserve your strength.

A carefully timed block will deflect your opponent's attack, but bear in mind that you cannot block grab attacks or blows from behind. When you land an attack using the heavy attack button, it will change to a powerful successive strike if: 1) the target is downed or knocked off balance, or 2) the target is not expecting the attack. Powerful successive strikes should be carefully aimed, as they leave you vulnerable.

Fighters are a moderately difficult class capable of blocking and parrying attacks, and staggering or knocking down foes when played properly. Fighter is generally played as a tank while dealing moderate damage. They have great mobility due to the skill Blink Strikewhich allows them to speed around the battlefield engaging foes. Although there are augments and rings that can draw the attention of your enemies, you may want to employ Shield Summonsin the early game to keep your enemies attention focused on you.

The utility skill Springboardallows you to boost allies into the air, potentiallyspeeding up the process of climbing a large enemy. It can also be used to boost up to high ledges while exploring for the purpose of gathering treasure that is just out of reach. The most difficult and powerful aspect of playing a fighter is the ability to parry an enemy attack, which negates all incoming damage, staggers the enemy, and deals damage. Unlocking the core skill True Deflectallows you to parry by pressing the class action button just before an enemy attack hits you.

DD2Fighter Stat Growth

Stats inDragon's Dogma 2grow in two ways - temporary Stat Adjustments from choosing and adopting a Vocation, and increases that happen per level, modified by Vocation Stat Multipliers. Stat Adjustments happen instantly whenever you change into a Vocation. This means that if you chose theFighteras your Basic Vocation during Character Creation, you'll likely already have these Stat Adjustments already applied to your Stats. Vocation Stat Multipliers are relevant whenever your character levels up.

FighterStat Adjustments in Dragon's Dogma 2

As aforementioned, Stat Adjustments will immediately and automatically apply whenever you switch Vocations. These temporary Stat changes will reflect the Vocation's play style and will benefit the Stats that are advantageous for it. In contrast, some Stats mayreduced to balance out the Vocation's stats. When you switch to a different Vocation, these adjustments will be taken away, and then the Stat Adjustments for the newer Vocation will be conferred accordingly. Switching to theFighterVocation will confer the following Stat Adjustments:

  • Health:+150
  • Stamina:+0
  • Strength:+15
  • Defense:+10
  • Magick:-20
  • Magick Defense: -15
  • Knockdown Power:+20
  • Knockdown Res: +0
  • Weight:+5

FighterStat Multipliersin Dragon's Dogma 2

Whenever a character levels up, they are granted base Stat increases which are determined per level. These base Stat increases are then modified by Vocation Stat Multipliers which can be different per Stat and are different per Vocation. Like Stat Adjustments, these multipliers will reflect the Vocation's playstyles and lean towards the Stats that are advantageous to it. After the multiplier is applied to the base stat increase for each Stat, they are then rounded down before being permanently granted to your character. TheFighterhas the following Stat Multipliers:

  • Health: x1.4
  • Stamina: x1.
  • Strength: x1.3
  • Defense: x1.3
  • Magick: x0.6
  • Magick Defense: x0.6

Knockdown Power, Knockdown Res, and Weight do not have multipliers.Knockdown Resdoesn't grow at all, and Weight will stop growing after level 40.Knockdown Powerwill also stop growing after level 81. Past level 200, every Stat aside fromHealthwill grow by 1 point with each level (before Vocation modifiers).
